Chad Michaelis has been the Director of Information Technology for the City of Wheaton since 2004. Mr. Michaelis has over 20 years of experience implementing and managing technology.

Prior to joining the City of Wheaton, Mr. Michaelis was a Senior Manager for Deloitte & Touche Tax Technologies LLC. In that position he supported the development, testing, and operations of innovative web services for Deloitte’s extensive network of tax consultants. Prior to joining Deloitte, Mr. Michaelis was the Director of Information Technology for CM HealthCare Resources, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Children’s Memorial Hospital. In this role, he selected and implemented technologies which enabled the business to transform from delivering traditional nursing and therapy services to providing cutting-edge disease state management programs.

Prior to joining Children’s Memorial Hospital, Mr. Michaelis held a variety of progressively more responsible positions with Premark International, Inc. (which was subsequently acquired by Illinois Tool Works). During his tenure, Premark transitioned from centralized mainframe computing to distributed client-server computing. In addition to selecting and implementing new technologies, Mr. Michaelis provided internal audit services to identify and remediate the risks introduced by new technologies.

Chad received his BS in Mathematics Education from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in 1989. He completed several MS courses at Northwestern University. Chad was also certified in production and inventory management by APICS and holds several technical certifications.
